About the Name

My great grandfather was a founder of a firm called Beacon Manufacturing Company in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Charles Owen Dexter created an innovation in making cotton blankets that made them have a surface more like wool, making them more comfortable and giving them a greater feeling of warmth. I chose the name partly in honor of him. Also, one of the core values of my practice, and one that I want to reinforce in client efforts, is of innovation that contributes to society.

In addition, a beacon shines light into the night so that captains of ships can get where they truly want to go. I want to help captains in businesses to be able to go to genuinely worthwhile destinations of their choosing, rather than onto rocky shores of unnecessarily compromised values.
